Despite this demerit they still remain the best choice for businesses that have staff who are mostly out of the office.

The other kind of phone system are the traditional land line systems that are normally hosted by a regional or local phone company. The traditional phone system, also referred to as public switched telephone networks (PSTNs), still runs on the copper wiring systems that was designed many years ago. In order for one to use a land line they need an PBX-hardware on the business premises which is used to create extensions and enables other phone features like call directories and call transfers. These days there are hybrid systems that have both the traditional phone line but can still connect to the data network of the business which is then used to connect to each phone. The traditional phone systems are still a favourite among many businesses since they have been tried and tested in the past without fail and they are known for their reliability and affordability
